Verónica Huitrón Zamudio
(1996) is a Mexican multidisciplinary designer and art director, based in Mexico City. Her background spans set design, furniture, and innovation consultancy, she has cultivated a unique approach to her work, characterized by a keen eye for audiovisual aesthetics and a passion for artisanal craftsmanship, as wicker weaving.
Raised in the suburbs of Mexico City and having lived in three different cities, Verónica draws on a diverse range of experiences that shape her creative output. Her work, which spans photography aesthetics and the exploration of materials and techniques, reflects her profound interest in both her cultural heritage and contemporary artistic practices.
Over the past years, Verónica has played a pivotal role in the Mexican art and film industries, managing projects for contemporary artists and developing spacial and visual concepts for the film sector. Her current roles include art director for audiovisual projects and curator-manager of an art platform.
As the founder of IMIA Objetos Cotidianos, Verónica experiments with artisanal and natural materials, drawing from their endemic contexts. Her inaugural collection was showcased at Design Week México 2020, highlighting her blend of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary design.
Now a 2024 Fellow in the beVisioneers Mercedes-Benz Fellowship, she continues to develop her project: IMIA MIM around wicker research, bridging art and industry with a focus on design exploration and cultural richness.
